I wanted to say your blog is very good. I continually like to hear anything new about this as a result of I even have the similar blog in my Country on this subject thus this help′s me a lot. There is a lot of talk about investing in solar stocks but not in the real assets themselves. Why do you think that is? Only institutional investors are trying to own the assets in order to get the ongoing revenue steam and tax benefits. I work at Greenzu, a green investment company. We provide investors with their own solar micro-utilities, not shares of stock. It has been interesting to see the difference in investment appetite of an individual investor versus an institutional one.

I was researching small solar panel data and luckily found this article. I found similar sites, like http://www.propeller.com/story/2010/01/20/small-solar-panels/ that help you install your very own solar panels but I was trying to figure out where to get the pv panels.

Your overall lesson is great. Chose investments that you firmly believe in for the long term. My portfolio is down ever so slightly which I think is a success.
The key was choosing stocks that I believe in and those that are self sustaining regardless of the markets.

CSIQ is the best of the lot. Excellent management, good execution, lots of contracts, expanding out of Spain to Other countries such as Greece, Italy, US. UMG which will expand into the US. Brand name recognition in Germany, Spain, China.
